The DIABAT project focuses on understanding brown adipose tissue to create new treatments for type 2 diabetes. By harnessing the body's own energy-burning fat cells, the project aims to improve weight management and blood sugar levels, potentially reversing damage to insulin-producing cells.
The DIABAT project will employ knowledge of the function, dysfunction and physiological regulation of brown adipocytes to develop innovative therapeutic and preventive strategies for type 2 diabetes.
