This project aims to develop a transparent and explainable deep learning system for visual scene understanding. By integrating various data types and addressing uncertainties, the technology seeks to enhance user trust in applications such as mobile robotics and intelligent vehicles.
Explanations are valuable because they scaffold the kind of learning that supports adaptive behaviour, e.g. explanations enable users to adapt themselves to the situations that are about to arise.
