This project investigates the cognitive and neural mechanisms behind socio-emotional behavior in preschool children to identify those at risk for mental health issues. It aims to develop targeted interventions and validate a portable neuroimaging technique for early detection of altered behavior.
Mental health problems affect approximately 12% of children and have dramatic consequences at the individual and societal level.
