This project focuses on understanding the development of midbrain dopamine neurons, which are crucial for various brain functions. It aims to characterize the role of transcription factors during the late maturation of these neurons, which could provide insights into neurodegenerative diseases.
Understanding mechanisms underlying the generation of diverse neuronal subtypes is one of the major challenges in current neuroscience research.
