This project aims to develop a simplified synthetic route for beta-thiol amino acids, which are crucial for protein synthesis. The focus is on utilizing recent advancements in chemical techniques to create these amino acids for use in producing proteins, such as an anti-HIV protein.
Proteins are in the heart of almost every single biological function and therefore are essential tools for drug discovery.
