This project aims to develop an innovative laboratory model for studying oral mucositis, a painful side effect of cancer treatments. The goal is to create tools for high-throughput screening of new therapies, reducing reliance on animal testing.
Both from the European Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods and worldwide, there is a general call for the reduction, refinement or replacement of the use of laboratory animals.
