The MINATURA 2020 project aims to create a framework for identifying and protecting mineral deposits of public importance in Europe. It seeks to balance mineral exploration with environmental and land use considerations to ensure sustainable resource management.
The exploitation of minerals in Europe is an indispensable activity to ensure that the present and future needs of the European society can be met.
This means that sufficient access is required to explore and exploit minerals.
