The DESIRE project focuses on training specialists in the use of e-fuels for combustion devices, aiming to support the energy transition in energy-intensive industries. It combines expertise in combustion science and engineering to develop predictive tools for optimizing the use of these sustainable fuels.
The future energy mix will include a variety of fuels. E-fuels allow to store the excess renewable energy into high energy-density chemical compounds representing the ideal candidates for energy transition in Energy Intensive Industries (EIIs).The DESIRE network will train the next generation of specialists in exploring the use of e-fuels, in existing combustion devices, to better guide the energy transition and to help the decarbonization of EIIs in Europe.
