DeciFERR investigates the mechanisms of ferroptosis, a type of cell death linked to various diseases, including cancer. The project aims to identify strategies to trigger ferroptosis in cancer cells, particularly neuroblastoma, by targeting key regulatory pathways.
Ferroptosis is a cell death modality triggered by the accumulation of oxidised lipids, a process known as lipid oxidation, and associated with a multitude of pathological conditions, including ageing, neurodegeneration, and cancer.
