The project aims to develop and validate a new solar heating system that uses pure glycol as a thermodynamic fluid, enabling efficient heating for buildings year-round. It focuses on improving thermal storage technologies to meet the heating demands in sunny regions of Europe.
Even in the sunniest regions of Europe, current solar heating systems for single houses or buildings are not yet able to provide their heating needs all year round based only on incoming solar radiation.
The main reason for this is that thermal storage technologies are designed neither in size nor in insulation performances to allow for safe and reliable autonomous heating.
Recently, EnerSun has shown promising results using pure glycol as the thermodynamic fluid and well insulated storage syste…
