This project develops new methods to analyze the impact of household and firm diversity on macroeconomic dynamics. It focuses on understanding how this heterogeneity affects economic responses to shocks, particularly in investment, labor, and housing markets, as well as the role of strategic interactions among agents.
A main challenge for modern macroeconomics is to understand the consequences of the sizeable heterogeneity across households and firms, a feature ignored by textbook representative-agent models.
