This project addresses the need for dynamic export cables for floating offshore wind farms, crucial for integrating renewable energy into the grid. It focuses on validating the insulation reliability of new high-voltage direct current cables to support the development of floating wind technology.
Offshore wind generation is critical to realizing the European Green Deal and the broader EU ambition to reach climate-neutrality by 2050. A third of all the offshore capacity installed could be floating since this technology unlocks wind potential in deeper waters at greater distances offshore.
