This project investigates the interactions between microtubules and actin filaments in living cells, focusing on their cooperative roles in processes like cell division and migration. Using a reconstituted model system, it aims to quantify the dynamics of these cytoskeletal components under various conditions.
Living cells maintain a high degree of functional and structural organization which largely depends on a highly dynamic scaffold, the cytoskeleton, with microtubules (MTs) and actin filaments as the central elements.
