This project aims to create a cyber biological system that integrates a swarm of ants with mobile robots to enhance resource exploration and collection. By leveraging the natural foraging behavior of ants, the system seeks to improve efficiency in locating and transporting food.
Bio-inspiration is a main driving force for the development of innovative and adapted artificial systems.
Going one step further, the fundamental goal of this proposal is to design a cyber biological system (CBS) that interfaces a swarm of animals with a distributed artificial system.
Our objective is to demonstrate that such CBS can benefit from advantages of both artificial and natural systems and outperform their constituents.
