The CUSTOMER project aims to enhance the safety and adaptability of Embedded Real-Time Systems by enabling dynamic software updates post-deployment. It focuses on developing a framework that ensures safety during updates while accommodating the complexities of real-time computing.
Today, many industrial products are defined by software and therefore customizable: their functionalities implemented by software can be modified and extended by dynamic software updates on demand.
This trend towards customizable products is rapidly expanding into all domains of IT, including Embedded Real-Time Systems (ERTS) deployed in Cyber-Physical Systems such as cars, medical devices etc.
