This project investigates the role of long non-coding RNAs in the pathogenesis of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, specifically Crohn’s Disease. By analyzing tissue samples, it aims to identify specific targets for therapeutic intervention to promote mucosal healing.
The Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), Crohn’s Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC) are chronic/relapsing disorders that affect over six million individuals worldwide.
Mucosal ulcers, the hallmark of CD, are the result of a complex interaction between microbiota, immune cells, and gut epithelia.
