This research investigates the microstructural behavior of soils to improve models for predicting their mechanical properties. By focusing on anisotropic and expansive behaviors, the project aims to develop a new computational tool for geotechnical engineering applications.
The proposal focusses on investigating the incorporation of microstructural aspects of soil fabric into an existing coupled mechanical and retention framework for saturated and unsaturated soils.
