This project uses high-power lasers to simulate astrophysical phenomena in the lab, particularly the dynamics of shock waves in the early universe. It aims to provide experimental evidence for the generation of magnetic fields at cosmic shocks, contributing to our understanding of cosmic structures.
The advent of high-power laser systems in the past two decades has opened a new field of research where astrophysical environments can be scaled down to laboratory dimensions, yet preserving the essential physics.
