This research investigates the use of Genipin, a natural cross-linking agent, for treating keratoconus and related corneal inflammatory diseases. It aims to establish a new therapeutic approach that avoids the complications of traditional treatments.
Keratoconus is an eye disorder in which the normally curved cornea, the clear window of the eye, progressively thins and begins to bulge into a cone-like shape, leading to significant visual impairment.
