This project develops a new method for emulsification that allows for self-emulsification at low temperatures, reducing energy consumption. It targets applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries by improving the efficiency of emulsification processes.
Industrial emulsification often requires inefficient, high energy processes, such as mechanical shear leading to high temperatures in emulsificaiton.
Our new efficient method has enabled self-emulsificatino at low temperatures by simply cooling an emulsion.
We will apply this method to industrially relevant compounds for the food and pharma industries.
