This project investigates how collisions between transcription and DNA replication processes lead to genetic and epigenetic instability, which is linked to various diseases. It aims to develop cellular systems to study these collisions and their effects on gene expression and cellular transformations.
Genetic and epigenetic instability contribute to cancers, aging, developmental disorders, and neurological diseases, so in-depth understanding how this instability arises is an important question affecting millions in Europe.
