The MACCSol project focuses on developing a Modular Air Cooled Condenser (MACC) to improve steam condensation in power plants. This technology aims to enhance power plant efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, making it a more sustainable option compared to conventional condensers.
Each year, tens of thousands of MW of Steam Turbine (ST) power generation capacity are installed globally.
For all of these installations it is necessary to condense the steam at the outlet of the ST.
The global market for condensers for this application in 2011 was estimated at $1.9B and it is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 5.2% to reach $3.3B by 2030.
