COLVET aims to analyze the history and policies regarding veterans in various colonial contexts during the interwar period. By comparing experiences across empires, the project seeks to expand the understanding of veteran narratives and reframe historical concepts to include diverse veteran experiences.
COLVET will develop the first comprehensive and comparative account of colonial veterancy in what was the foundational era for modern conceptions of the veteran, the interwar period.
