This project investigates the role of specific brain cells and neurotransmitters in cognitive processes. By manipulating neural activity in animal models, it aims to understand how these factors influence cognition and behavior, potentially leading to methods for cognitive enhancement.
Cognition is a collective term for complex but sophisticated mental processes such as attention, learning, social interaction, language production, decision making and other executive functions.
