The ARTDETECT project is focused on combating art forgery by developing tools to identify forgeries in paintings. It aims to create a database of art anomalies and characteristics to assist law enforcement and art professionals in detecting counterfeit works.
Forged paintings pose an urgent challenge to international law enforcement agencies and the art world.
Both the quantity and the quality of the works are alarming.
