The CO-TRANS-NET project develops synthetic nucleic acids that can detect various tumor biomarkers, enabling simultaneous cancer diagnosis and therapy. This innovative approach utilizes cell-free systems to create responsive networks for improved patient care.
WHY:
The heterogeneity of tumors often makes their diagnosis and treatment a very hard task. A single tumor can have many different diagnostically-relevant molecular markers which can also be used to monitor the efficacy of treatment.
