This research examines the impact of climate change on the trade networks of staple foods like maize and wheat. It enhances existing models to analyze how climate and economic factors affect food security and resilience in the European and Mediterranean regions.
Global climate change adversely affects crop yields and undermines humanity’s food security and resilience; while previous research has focused on regional agricultural adaptation, the opportunities and vulnerabilities of trade networks have remained less explored.
