This project aims to understand the organization of chromatin, the complex of DNA and proteins that regulate gene expression. By studying chromatin types in fruit flies, it seeks to reveal how these structures influence gene regulation and genome partitioning.
Chromatin is the ensemble of genomic DNA and hundreds of structural and regulatory proteins.
Together these proteins govern the gene expression program of a cell.
