This project investigates how the organization of the mammalian genome changes in response to replication stress, particularly at stalled replication forks. It aims to uncover the relationship between chromatin structure, DNA repair mechanisms, and resistance to chemotherapy in cancer cells.
Background and unmet need:
The mammalian genome is a highly organized structure where distinctchromosomal domains occupy discrete territories and position in a non-random fashion.
Genomeorganization also determines the proper functioning of various biological processes, including DNAreplication.
