This project focuses on using engineered scaffolds and small interfering RNA to regenerate cartilage in osteoarthritis. It aims to develop a delivery platform that bypasses traditional cell delivery limitations, targeting connexin 43 to restore healthy cartilage metabolism.
Regenerative medicine strategies using engineered scaffolds have shown promise to regenerate cartilage in degenerative conditions (e.g. osteoarthritis, OA).
