This project investigates genetic variants linked to increased body fat but a healthy metabolic profile in children. It aims to identify predictors of healthy and unhealthy weight outcomes in adulthood by analyzing data from multiple child populations in Northern Europe.
Background:
Recent large-scale genomic studies have provided evidence that a number of genetic variants implicate an inverse relationship between increased adiposity and an unfavorable cardiometabolic profile.
