CHECKVIR aims to develop a novel oncolytic virus-based therapy to treat solid tumors that resist current cancer treatments. By combining tumor cell destruction with immune system activation, this approach seeks to improve outcomes for patients with difficult-to-treat cancers.
Despite novel innovations in immune-oncology over the last decades, up to 80% of solid cancers remain unresponsive to currently available approaches, highlighting an urgent unmet clinical need.
