This project investigates the role of the CCBE1 protein in lymphatic development and neurogenesis, utilizing mouse and zebrafish models. It aims to clarify the mechanisms of lymphangiogenesis and the impact of CCBE1 on various organ development, particularly in relation to Hennekam Syndrome.
The lymphatic vasculature is crucial for fluid homeostasis and immune function, and has a central role in many pathological conditions.
The molecular mechanisms underlying lymphangiogenesis are poorly understood.
Recently, CCBE1 has been identified in the host lab as a key regulator of lymphangiogenesis in zebrafish, mice and human.
