The CHAIN project aims to enhance global collaboration in eInfrastructure by establishing a coordinated model for integrating European Grid infrastructures with international systems. It focuses on creating a strategy for operational synergy and fostering worldwide virtual communities for research.
Over the past 6 years, the EC has invested to extend the European eInfrastructure technology and European eInfrastructure (and particularly Grid) operational and organisational principles to a number of regions in the world, and reinforcing the close collaboration and exchange of know-how with similar technologies in other areas.
