This project investigates a specific type of prostate cancer characterized by a deletion in the CHD1 gene. It aims to understand the unique genetic features and treatment responses of these cancers, which may require different therapeutic strategies compared to hormone-driven cancers.
Prostate cancer can be stratified as ETS gene rearranged (ETSR) andnon-rearranged (ETSNR), with the latter comprising a heterogeneousgroup of 50-60% of all cancers.
This project will characterize a subgroupof ETSNR cancers that have a CHD1 deletion (CHD1del).
