This project focuses on understanding how gut bacteria break down complex carbohydrates from various sources. By exploring the genetic and functional aspects of these microorganisms, the research aims to enhance the efficiency of carbohydrate utilization for biotechnological applications.
Mammals rely entirely on their symbiotic microorganisms to digest complex glycans, issued from dietary fibers, yeasts, and the host itself.
