This project investigates how multicellular organisms interact with microbes, focusing on plant root nodules that host symbiotic bacteria. It aims to understand cellular signaling and organ development using model legumes, while developing new tools for studying plant-microbe interactions.
Mechanisms governing interaction between multicellular organisms and microbes are central for understanding pathogenesis, symbiosis and the function of ecosystems.
We propose to address these mechanisms by pioneering an interdisciplinary approach for understanding cellular signalling, response processes and organ development.
