This project aims to optimize WiFi-based mesh networks by developing analytical models and simulation techniques. It focuses on enhancing service delivery and mobility for location-based applications while addressing challenges like weak GPS signals in urban environments.
Firstly, an analytical model of the scenario will be developed for a given network topology and user demand.
The objective will be to determine the minimum set of WiFi-based mesh Access Points and backhauls that can satisfy the demand subject to some resource usage constraints in order to reach a good understanding of how traffic demands, network topology and amount of receivers are related.
