Culture Aware Music Technologies (CAMUT) seeks to develop music intelligence technologies tailored for India's diverse musical landscape. The project will create applications and platforms to enhance music organization and distribution, addressing local cultural needs and preferences.
The gap between the current capabilities of the music technologies used in commercial services and the needs of our culturally diverse world is still immense, e.g. in the several music traditions of culturally rich and diverse India.
The existing technologies fall short of utilizing even the basic musical characteristics and hence they limit our music listening experience.
