This project investigates the gene expression of the Candida albicans fungus during infections in different anatomical sites. It aims to understand how this pathogen adapts to the host environment and to identify the functions of genes with unknown roles during infection.
The opportunistic human fungal pathogen, Candida albicans causes a wide range of serious disease manifestations, especially in individuals with an impaired immune system.
