This project focuses on developing predictive models for nickel-based superalloys used in various industries, including aerospace and energy. It aims to enhance alloy design through computer-aided optimization, addressing complex relationships between composition, processing, and properties.
Metallic alloys are used in many industrial applications, needing the constant development of new materials with tailored properties.
However, the relations between composition, processing and properties are so complex that alloy development cannot be made anymore by a traditional trial-and-test procedure, and there is a growing need for models able to predict the behaviour of alloys as a function of composition, and for computer-aided optimisation tools for alloy design.
