This project focuses on developing innovative strategies to tackle the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture in mathematics, particularly for elliptic curves over real number fields. It aims to advance understanding through new proofs and approaches, engaging a team of researchers in this complex mathematical challenge.
In order to celebrate mathematics in the new millennium, the Clay Mathematics Institute established seven $1.000.000 Prize Problems.
One of these is the conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer (BSD), widely open since the 1960's.
