This project aims to understand how climate change affects Arctic and Alpine shrub ecosystems by analyzing growth responses across individual plants to community levels. It utilizes a unique dataset to model future shrub dynamics based on historical growth patterns and environmental conditions.
Climate change is observed and predicted to profoundly affect Arctic and Alpine ecosystems.
These ecosystems, at theborder of woody plant growth, change at a faster rate than the global average.
Growth responses of Arctic-Alpine shrubs toclimate change are variable and influenced by different factors. A key to understand the plasticity of responses to climatechange is a detailed analysis of growth at the intra-individual to the community level.
