The blackQD project aims to develop colloidal quantum dots for infrared detection applications. By enhancing the properties of these materials, the project seeks to create low-cost detectors suitable for emerging applications like flame detection and night driving assistance.
Over the past decades, silicon became the most used material for electronic, however its indirect band gap limits its use for optics and optoelectronics.
