The BIOSURF project develops antimicrobial surfaces for the food industry to prevent microbial contamination. It focuses on creating polymer-based biocides and monitoring modules to ensure food safety in processing and packaging environments.
There is a common need for preventing and eradicating microbial contamination across the supply and production chain in the food industry, especially in the food processing and packaging industries in the EU.
Therefore, it is important that all surfaces which come in contact with food and foodstuffs are free of potentially hazardous microorganisms.
