This project focuses on enhancing the degradation of lignocellulosic materials using a novel biological technology called BIORELOAD. By employing specific bacteria and fungi, it aims to increase biogas yield by up to 50%, thereby improving the efficiency and profitability of biogas plants.
A growing number of biogas plants use lignocellulosic material such as energy crops and crop residues.
It is one of the most abundant raw materials in the planet but its degradation poses some problems due to the structure cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin form.
This limits the use of certain crops and landscape management residues and impacts the profitability of biogas plants in the current context of subsidies reduction.
