The BIOBIO project aims to develop a scientifically-based system for assessing biodiversity benefits in organic and low-input farming across Europe. It will identify and validate biodiversity indicators through case studies, providing guidelines for their implementation to enhance ecological practices in agriculture.
Organic and low-input farming systems have been shown to benefit farmland biodiversity although a generic indicator system to assess these benefits at the European level is lacking.
The BIOBIO project will therefore pursue the following objectives: 1.
