The BIO-ADVANCE project aims to establish procedures for testing human-like crash test models using Post-Mortem Human Subjects in Spain. This research seeks to improve vehicle safety systems by better understanding human injury mechanisms during crashes.
Motor vehicle crashes are responsible for more than 1.2 million deaths a year and predictions for 2020 place them as the third leading contributor to the global burden of disease and injury (WHO, 2004).
