This project focuses on developing new methods for selectively modifying C–H bonds in organic molecules using innovative metal complexes. The goal is to produce valuable chemical building blocks from unactivated olefins, contributing to sustainable chemical production.
The catalytic and selective functionalisation of C–H bonds of organic molecules is a key enabling technology that has the potential to contribute to the sustainable production of commodity chemicals.
This proposal targets the selective catalytic functionalisation of vinylic C–H bonds of unactivated olefins (e.g. ethylene, propylene) with novel heterometallic complexes based on abundant and inexpensive elements (e.g.
