BiHyOMat focuses on creating advanced optoelectronic materials through the co-crystallization of proteins and photosensitizers. By controlling environmental factors, it aims to develop materials with unique optical properties for potential applications in nanotechnology.
BiHyOMat is an ambitious research project at the interface of chemistry, physics and biology, with the aim to produce high-end optoelectronic materials.
To this end, the project will take advantage of the co-crystallization of toroidal proteins and photosensitizers into monodimensional self-assemblies by means of electrostatic interactions, being a field where the hosting group is playing a pioneer role.
